International students who have completed an I-9 and are eligible to work are limited to 20 hours of work per week during term time. International students may work up to 40 hours per week during breaks in the academic calendar (fall break, intersession, spring break and summer vacation).
Applying for a Social Security Number (SSN):
Details of the SSN application process can be found on the Davis International Center website. A brief summary is listed below:
- The student must secure on campus employment.
- The student must visit the Student Employment Office for an Employment Confirmation Letter
- The student will bring the employment confirmation letter to the Davis Center
- The student will apply for a Social Security Number (SSN) at the SSA Office
