Financial Aid FAQ (Fall 2020)

Following the University's announcement of its plan for fall 2020, the Financial Aid Office has prepared a resource that answers common questions about the financial aid, billing, and student employment implications of the plan. Please view this resource to learn more.

Financial Aid Mail Processing

The Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid and Student Employment (UFA) is currently unable to send or receive U.S. mail. To update your financial aid application, please upload materials to your secure financial aid portal; secure fax to our office at 609-258-0336; or email to pfaa@princeton.edu (if you are a member of the class of 2024) or faoffice@princeton.edu (if you are a currently enrolled student).

Summer Savings Replacement

We expect that students will work over the summer and use earnings to help cover expenses like travel, books and personal items. Your financial aid award details the amount you are expected to save over the summer. Please note, we do NOT send you a bill for the summer savings amount.

If you are unable to meet your summer savings expectation, please contact our office and make an appointment to request a summer savings replacement.  

Before your appointment, we will ask you to complete a Summer Savings Replacement Form. In your appointment, we’ll review the form and replace half of any summer savings deficit with additional grant aid. We can offer a subsidized student loan or additional campus job allowance to replace the second half of your summer savings deficit.

This policy provides flexibility in pursuing a variety of summer enrichment options including jobs and internships, service projects and academic research.
